Criminal Profiling

See: Criminal Profiling for a great analysis of the 141 page "manifesto" left by Elliot Rodger, Santa Barbara shooter from Friday evening's rampage.

When a child custody issue becomes a terrible tragedy!

Unless you're among those who pay NO ATTENTION to the world around you, you obviously know by now that on Friday evening, (May 23, 2014), in the Santa Barbara area of Southern California, a kid named "Elliot Rodger" decided that he'd had enough of life's tribulations, and went on a killing spree, to punish those he perceived as his enemies.

The tragedy that took place in Isla Vista, the small community that houses Santa Barbara College, was just another in a trending series of homicidal incidents that America must learn to prevent, but the need is for a deep understanding of WHY these are happening, before anyone can honestly say they are concerned.  Hopefully, someone will understand this analysis, and take action before they become involved on a more intimate level with similar circumstances.

Elliot Rodger was a true victim of his circumstances.  I've been screaming out at the system for years, trying to teach, plead, and beg them to understand the end result of the culmination of poor choices and decisions that are forced upon a child by people who think the "cookie-cutter approach" to raising children is the right answer.

After spending many hours reading the written manifesto of Elliot Rodger, I conclude this life was one where he would have had no idea how to arrange the facts in a way to make it anything other than this outcome.  The case of Elliot Rodger can only be described as "The Perfect Storm."

Everything he explains would be the exact recipe for a scenario ending in such tragedy.  Elliot lived a life of privilege and instant gratification.  He was never allowed to fail.  He was never taught to grow, learn, and develop into any sort of personal integrity beyond those two traits -- entitlement and personal satisfaction with every single thing crossing his mind -- never being allowed outside his comfort zone for any length of time.  He repeats, over and over, how his biological mother had such a "sweet and accommodating spirit," going above and beyond, in order to fix or to allow him to abstain from, anything that made him uncomfortable, or to fulfill his every desire for anything he wanted, as far as material wishes.

But, his father made him wait, and he developed great disdain for that.  He speaks frequently about how weak his father was, and he had a huge distaste for his step-mother.  Although he was correct in his analysis that she had no right to attempt to impose discipline upon Elliot, he failed to recognize his own need for same.  His writings indicate an overt narcissism beyond that of an exigent level.  Every single thought was about his being accepted and adored with affection by everyone he encountered that he had any level of attraction to, whatsoever.  When his perceptions failed to materialize, he went into his mental funk, and his idea that he was entitled to their affections was a theme that ran throughout the entire 141 pages of his "manifesto."

At the age of Eight, his father introduced him to video games, by buying him a Nintendo 64®.   This was a short bonding period between he and his father, but once he was allowed free reign over the decisions about gaming, it went downhill from there.  It wasn't long before he was graduating to more and more of the action games, and then into the violent video games, via War Craft, then World of Warcraft, and beyond.  Elliot even says, "No one will ever understand the extent to which the video games have effected my life!"   Drinking alcohol and violent video games were THE major part of his College Life.  For this reason, he says he cannot trust anyone!

The addiction to violent video games stops the 25 year development of the human brain, and specifically effects the frontal lobe.  The frontal lobe is where decision-making ability is found, as well as impulse control. Once the failure, or interruption, of the timely development of the frontal lobe occurs, there is no going back. Decision-making and impulse control are lost.  Immaturity is the dominant feature in these people, in all aspects of their lives, and we've all seen them.

THERE HAS NEVER BEEN A MASS-SHOOTING INCIDENT IN RECENT AMERICAN HISTORY, (since about 1979), THAT DID NOT INVOLVE PERPETRATION BY AN ADDICTED GAMER.  Anyone who disputes this, is welcome to attempt to provide well-documented evidence to the contrary.  (SEE: "On Killing" by Lt. Colonel David Grossman -- ISBN # 0-316-33011-6 and "Stop Teaching Our Kids to Kill" by Lt. Col. Dave Grossman and Gloria DeGaetano ISBN # 0-609-60613-1)

We haven't even begun to reap the harvest of the effects of violent video gaming on American Society.  Law enforcement just doesn't get it.  The psychology/psychiatry industry is too busy with generating income from pseudo-diagnoses, and the news media is oblivious!

Elliot cannot even remember most of the names of the various "Nannies, " provided for him, over his lifetime.  He speaks to the pain of losing some of the Nannies that he was attached to, or cared about.  This had an effect on his feeling toward "human-replacement," and was, again, caused by a lack of frontal lobe activity. Repeated loss makes it difficult to trust anyone, or anything.  Everything is temporary.  According to Elliot, you can simply replace it.  If you want to eliminate someone, or something, (little differences), you can simply replace them or it.  He simply felt that people were disposable as a replacement commodity, hence his failure to recognize the value of human life, around him. The Human Spirit can adjust to most anything, but without the basic steps of learning, growth and proper development, having been met, the perception of these things often comes out scrambled.  This was Elliot's lot in life.

He would become angry if he was somehow attracted to an approaching strranger, (both male and female, but mostly female), and his smile was not returned, or met with a complete failure to acknowledge his presence.  He became humiliated, through his impression that they were "dissing him."

Elliot's family moved from residence to residence many times over his young life, this was an escalation with the divorce of his parents, and the Judge's Decree that he spend 50% of his time, with each of his biological parents.  This is a devastation on ANY child, to say nothing of a child who is lacking in proper steps of development.  After being ejected from his father's home by his step-mother, (another mind-fracturing event), Elliot continued the trend, because this became a normalcy in his life.  He changed colleges, dorm rooms, apartments, room mates, and various other living accommodations for the final years of his young life. This mobility became his normal state of living.  He fought with almost ALL of his room mates, over the most trivial of matters, even performing a citizen's arrest on one of them.

With no sense of place, or self, Elliot had no choice but to flounder in his social life and self-development.

On his thirteenth Birthday, Elliot was awarded by his father, by an adult approval and encouragement to "have a beer with ol' Dad!"  What a great idea that turned out to be, as another way to become more attractive to women.  We all know how much most women love drunks! . . .  and Gamers!

All of the preceding events, (and many I haven't mentioned), over the twenty-two years of Elliot's life, were the end result of a culmination of choices made for Elliot, and choices he made, himself.  Life is about choices!  Elliot's life came to an end after a series of choices he had no control over.  The lack of frontal lobe development, coupled with his mismanaged life-alterations, through no fault of his own, he finished out his legacy on the control end of a gun, pointed at the warped perceptions of his having been disrespected, and not recognized as the Aristocratic person he was convinced he had been born to be.

Elliot's father, in continuing the poor decisions of his past, wants to blame "The existence of Guns," for this debacle. Elliot's step-mother is very Blessed to be alive, because I would have profiled her being in grave danger, had I read his "manifesto" before his death.

Let's not forget that Elliot learned this behavior behind the very video distraction he learned from Dad.  Let's not forget that the divorce, as well as all that it brought, played a role, too.  And, let's not lose sight of the fact that HALF of Elliot's victims were killed on the sharp edge of a KNIFE -- not a gun.  If Dad's going to use his infinite wisdom to call for a ban on guns, he needs to call for a ban on knives, and probably spoiled children who are given BMWs, as a reward for some tantrum they throw, to get their way.

My advice to both his biological parents is, "You teach people how to treat you.  You didn't do your job teaching Elliot.   Don't offer advice to the rest of us, based on your track record."   And, as a final thought on Elliot Roger, I noted that he used only one swear word, throughout his manifesto, and he mentioned God NOT ONCE.  Maybe that was the missing element, ehh?

Only trusted Pedophile is a DEAD Pedophile

The ONLY Pedophile that can be trusted is a DEAD PEDOPHILE!

Obviously, the State of New York, still hasn’t gotten it right, statutorily, or this sentence would have been far worse!  The reporter doesn’t say, but this Judge must have been constrained by limitations on his sentence.

The question I would ask His Honor, would be, “Do you really THINK, for even a moment, that this pedophile, whom you admit is ’masquerading as a human being,’ is going to be cured, or even a “smidgeon” better, in 27 to 29 years?
It’s so obvious to any observer, over the past twenty years of this kind of criminal behavior, that the Courts are far too limited in their ability to deal with the issue on a realistic basis, and be able to live up to their charge to “Protect Society, through the Rule of Law.”  Here’s the story:

Syracuse, NY ---- With his head down, not looking up to make eye contact with anyone, a Syracuse, New York man learned his punishment for raping a two-year-old and a four-year-old in 2010.

“I’m going to impose a sentence that will put you in jail for close to 30 years… but you have sentenced these two children to a life sentence. They will have to live with the effect of your conduct for the rest of their lives,” Judge Anthony Aloi told 33-year-old Ronald Clark in Onondaga County Court Thursday morning.

Clark will spend the next 27 to 29 years in prison, the maximum sentence. He was sentenced to 25 years for two-counts of rape, and will serve a consecutive sentence of two to four years for possessing child pornography, which investigators found on his computer.

Last December, Clark admitted to raping the two toddlers as his wife, Sierra Clark, held them down. This happened sometime between April and the end of August in 2013. Assistant District Attorney Jeff Schiano says the case against Sierra will go to court soon. For now, she sits in jail on rape and sex abuse charges. In court Thursday, Schiano said he’s never seen a case so disgusting and disturbing as the case of Ronald Clark.

“I’m convinced he is less than a human being. His acts are absolutely unbelievable to me and they are unforgivable. The rape of a two and four-year-old while another person holds those children down is absolutely unforgivable,” Schiano said. That’s a sentiment Judge Aloi agrees with.

“I’ve been involved with the criminal justice system for a number of years, and this is truly one of the most vile and disgusting cases that has come across my desk that I can ever remember,” Aloi said before reading the sentence. “The only word that I can use to describe the acts, are that they are ‘vile’. I don’t know if ‘vile’ even comes close to what it really is.”

In a statement to the court, Schiano briefly acknowledged an apology Clark sent to the District Attorney’s Office to the victims.

“I received your apology for your cold, monstrous acts. On behalf of the people of the State of New York and on behalf of the victims of this case, your apology is not accepted. You should never ever be allowed to breathe the same air as those two innocent children breathe.”

In an interview with CNY Central, Schiano would not comment on the content of the letter, but he says the young victims – now about five and seven years old – are “doing great.”

“I can tell you, those two little girls, while he could steal their innocence, he couldn’t touch their spirits,” Schiano said.

Schiano hopes this case will spotlight the seriousness of child pornography, saying it is a warning sign, sometimes indicative of a bigger issue.

“Possession of child pornography isn’t always just possessing child pornography, people will actually act on these things. We’ve seen it twice in a couple of years,” he says. “The bigger issue for me as a prosecutor, when we walk into the courtroom and you know, there’s this mentality that sometimes in some courts, ‘They’re just possessing it, they’re just looking at it.’”
“Well, Ronald Clark wasn’t just looking at it. Ronald Clark acted on it. And we’ve seen other people do the same,” said Schiano.
*************************************

In response to this story, one person wrote “Ronald Clark should be castrated and put into general population in prison with the tattoo “toddler rapist” across his arms. While the disgusting excuse for a mother, we’ll call her a birth canal donor, should receive a full hysterectomy and be locked up alone in a dark room with the sounds of babies crying and babies screaming looping day after day. The two of them will be getting off easily in a comfy cell with daily food, exercise and access to TV’s and books at their leisure. Thanks prison system for rewarding the deepest evil with distractions.”

I’m sorry, but I cannot condone such behavior, as this person suggests; and I feel that if we, as a society, were vindictive in this manner, we become no different than those whom we condemn.  But, that only exacerbates the issue!  Stay with me, here, . . .

Discussion

In reality, if we can just put all the “Warm and Fuzzies” away for a couple minutes, thereby stashing the “political correctness” of this problem; we can have an intelligent discussion around the issues of the heinous crimes committed by those afflicted with the condition we call, “pedophilia.”

Foundational information:

There has NEVER been a documented case of a cured pedophile, and with all of the evidence indicating that they know who they are, and they have NO DESIRE to change their habits, frequently admitting that they are hopelessly addicted to the sexual desires for children, (and, more specifically, only certain types of children, as each of these people have a set of “preferences,” to which they will go, if the opportunity to groom their victim, presents itself), and those easily identified as “the most-vulnerable among us.”  Since all that is true, why would we NOT consider this among the most heinous crimes that CAN be committed, and place a statutorily mandatory DEATH SENTENCE on the ones convicted of such a crime?

Even though there are myriads of arguments to the contrary, it appears NONE of them concern themselves with even so much as the POTENTIAL for future victims, should these people be allowed to continue to share the oxygen, the common sense approach must be to do an analysis, without emotion for the criminals, and with all the emotion we can muster, for the victims.

These are not crimes that a person recovers from, or heals up, once victimized.  A mind fracture is the result, and unlike a broken leg, or a bad cut requiring stitches, or even a gunshot wound, the mind fracture never fully heals, and it leaves tracks on the behavior of the victim for the remainder of their lives.

Both “Pedophiles” and “Child Molesters” have been finitely defined by the American Psychiatric Association, (APA), for the purposes of supporting their various positions on the matter, -- which ALL involve the financial well-being of their members and practitioners.  I cannot find significant differences, when it comes to the final outcomes, therefore I lump them together as “pedophiles.”

Certainly, from the victim’s perspective, there are no differences!  To allow the Court to give the Defense Attorney the leeway to the introduction of anything perceived as “exculpatory,” by allowing an expert to tell the jury that the “accepted definition of a ‘true pedophile” is a person who can ONLY have a sexual attraction to a person under a specific age, and cannot carry on a sexual relationship with any adult person, based solely upon the criteria of ‘age” is far beyond the rational purpose of the Court, and asks the jury to parse this case FAR BEYOND all common sense, and viewpoint of the victim, (to say nothing, whatsoever, of future victims).

It gives a person the sense that the whole Courtroom scenario is done for one reason, and one reason, ONLY – the perpetuation of a financial gain of the Judge and the various attorneys, clerks, paralegals, and others employed within this BROKEN Criminal Justice System.

Judges CANNOT be limited, when it comes to passing sentence on these creeps.  Society needs to hold Judges accountable for weak-kneed sentences, by asking whether a judge sympathetic to a pedophile/child-molester may have similar tendencies, themselves, (which other reasoning makes any sense)?

We must, as concerned citizens, as well as former victims, make contact with the various state legislatures, by finding a legislator who understands this issue from a psychological perspective, and convince him/her to introduce legislation that negates the current methodology by the Criminal Courts, and allow for a statutory acceptance of the REALITY of these kinds of sexual crimes, and the life-long damage done to the most innocent people among us!

We must ALSO ask the legislatures to exempt the criminals convicted of these crimes from any kind of "Good Time Credit" program available to other criminals, allowing them to gain a level of time off their sentences, based on behavior, participation, etc.

Sandy Hook Mass Murderer fixated on Pedophilia

The state's attorney report on the horrific murders at  the Sandy Hook Elementary School by shooter Adam Lanza found no "conclusive motive" for his actions but did document unsettling facts about the 20-year-old killer, including computer files he kept on the rights of pedophiles, a movie about man/boy love, instant messages concerning "homosexual fantasies," numerous mass murder documents, and a computer game entitled "School Shooting."

In "School Shooting," an amateur computer game, "the player controls a character who enters a school and shoots at students," reads an Investigation Report (DPS-302-E) that is among the 1,000-plus pages comprising the state's attorney report on the shootings.
Lanza, after shooting his mother Nancy Lanza at home on the morning of Dec. 14, 2012, drove to the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., and shot and killed 20 children and six adults, and then shot himself.  (Full report, text and images here.  Summary report here.)
In his summary report, State's Attorney for the Judicial District of Danbury Stephen Sedensky says the "shooter had significant mental health issues" but "the shooter's mental status is no defense to his conduct as the evidence shows he knew his conduct to be against the law. He had the ability to control his behavior to obtain the results he wanted, including his own death."
The summary report states that in the electronic evidence gathered at Lanza's house from his computer, "investigators found many things that are on a typical hard drive or memory card" but, "That being said, the following selected topics or items were found within the digital evidence seized."
Some of the items listed include:
" Commercial movies depicting mass shootings."
" The computer game titled 'School Shooting' where the player controls a character who enters a school and shoots students."
" Five-second video (dramatization) depicting children being shot."
" Materials regarding the topic of pedophilia and advocating for rights of pedophiles (not child pornography)."

Along with the summary report is a "Review of Electronic Evidence" Investigation Report based upon an analysis of a USB hard drive that belonged to Adam Lanza. Among the numerous folders and sub-folders, investigators found a Text document entitled "pbear," a document "written advocating pedophiles' rights and the liberation of children." (See Investigation Report.pdf)
There also was a "writing" document entitled "Lovebound," which is described as a "screenplay or script describing a relationship between a 10-year-old boy and a 30-year-old man." This manuscript was apparently written by Lanza, according to the report.
The review also lists the following:
" 457.full Profile of a pedophile."
" 226972 (AVI) Voor Een Verloren Soldatt -- movie depicting a man/boy relationship."
" colgam01  Spreadsheet ranking mass murders by name, number killed, number injured, types of weapons used, and disposition."
" 'me'   8-page Word document detailing relationships, ideal companion, culture, voting, personal beliefs, describes doctors touching children as rape."
" 'umm'  Word document detailing how marriage is abusive and negative to people in a relationship."  (See Investigation Report.pdf)
The movie Voor Een Veroloren Soldatt (For a Lost Soldier) is a 1993 Dutch film that tells the story of a sexual relationship between a 12-year-old boy and a Canadian soldier in the Netherlands near the end of World War II.

The movie, as described in 1993 by the New York Times, is a gay "
coming of age" film without "any implied accusation of child abuse. ... [T]he film assigns no blame and assesses no damages."

In a folder entitled "Smigglesnsuch," there is an "Instant Message history with SixteenBitElder 'The Stranger' and 'Smiggles' (presumably the shooter) from December 2010 - February 2011. Discussion that focuses on gaming, homosexual fantasies, and day to day activities."
There also is a text file called "Selfish," a "Word document explaining why females are selfish."
There also is a video of a dancing "pedobear."
A pedobear is an illustrated teddy bear image that programmers originally designed several years ago to flag child pornography or material deemed sexually inappropriate for children, but which has sometimes been used by child pornographers to draw attention.
The game on Lanza's hard drive, "School Shooting," apparently was not a commercial product; the state's attorney has not provided any further information on the game.

In the report, some witnesses told investigators that Lanza, in ninth and tenth grade, was reclusive, "shutting himself in the bedroom and playing video games all day."
"Reportedly, the shooter did not drink alcohol, take drugs, prescription or otherwise, and hated the thought of doing any of those things," reads the report. In addition, the "shooter disliked birthdays, Christmas and holidays. He would not allow his mother to put up a Christmas tree."
According to the FBI interview reports, one witness "recalled ADAM [Lanza] was very concerned about the environment and ADAM would walk around the island [redacted] picking up trash."

The same witness said Lanza "was very particular about what he would eat. ADAM was initially a vegetarian and then became a vegan."

Profile:Although my profile is much more extensive than I have room to publish here, (and it would bore you to death); since this case is not completely over, in the civil courts, I can only say that I profiled that there was, in all likelihood, a history of molestation on this young man.

The over-indulgences by his mother are indicative that she was aware that either he was the victim of such molestation, or she strongly suspected that something untoward had occurred with him.  She was most certainly aware that his behavior was that of a child with a fractured mind! It is tragic that shee had to pay the ultimate price, along with all those children, for this mistake.

Maryland Mall Shooting Profiled

COLUMBIA, Md. (Associated Press©) - The mall where a Maryland teenager gunned down two people before killing himself was set for a somber reopening Monday under increased security as police worked to figure out why the shooting took place and whether the gunman knew either victim.

Investigators found a journal belonging to Darion Marcus Aguilar, 19, but they would only say that it "expressed general unhappiness." The contents, however, were enough for an officer looking into the disappearance of Aguilar on the day of the shooting to worry about the teen's safety.

Police said Aguilar took a taxi to the Mall in Columbia in suburban Baltimore on Saturday morning and entered the building near Zumiez, a shop that sells skateboarding gear. He went downstairs to a food court directly below the store, then returned less than an hour later, dumped the backpack in a dressing room and started shooting.

Shoppers fled in a panic or barricaded themselves behind closed doors. When police arrived, they found three people dead - two store employees and Aguilar.
The shooting baffled investigators and acquaintances of Aguilar, a quiet, skinny teenager who graduated from high school less than a year ago and had no previous run-ins with law enforcement.

Aguilar, who had concealed the shotgun in a bag, fired six to nine times. One victim, Brianna Benlolo, a 21-year-old single mother, lived half a mile away from Aguilar in the same College Park neighborhood, but police said they were still trying to determine what, if any, relationship they had.

The other employee, Tyler Johnson, did not know Aguilar and did not socialize
with Benlolo outside of work, a relative said.

Zumiez chief executive Rick Brooks said in a statement that when the mall reopens, there will be memory books to sign and visitors will be invited to float flowers in the mall's fountain in memory of Benlolo and Johnson.

"Counselors have met with the store team," he said Sunday. "The emotions are very raw and real - and as co-workers and friends, we are pulling together."

Aguilar was accepted last February to Montgomery College, a community college in the Washington suburbs, but school spokesman Marcus Rosano said he never registered or attended.

Tydryn Scott, 19, said she was Aguilar's lab partner in science class at James Hubert Blake High School and said he hung out with other skaters. She said she was stung by the news.

"It was really hurtful, like, wow - someone that I know, someone that I've been in the presence of more than short amounts of time. I've seen this guy in action before. Never upset, never sad, just quiet, just chill," Scott told The Associated Press. "If any other emotion, he was happy, laughing."

Aguilar graduated in 2013.

The Prince George's County Police Department said it received a missing persons report for Aguilar at about 1:40 p.m. Saturday, more than two hours after the mall shooting. Officers went to Aguilar's home to speak with his mother about 5 p.m. and saw Aguilar's journal. The portion the officer read made him concerned for Aguilar's safety, the department said.

Police began tracking Aguilar's phone and soon discovered it was at the mall.
Howard County Police Chief William McMahon said there has been speculation about a romantic relationship between the gunman and Benlolo, but investigators have not been able to establish that.

Aguilar purchased the 12-gauge shotgun legally last month at a store in neighboring Montgomery County.

At his home where he lived with his mother, officers also recovered more ammunition, computers and documents, police said. No one answered the door there Sunday. A half-mile away, a roommate who answered the door at Benlolo's home confirmed that she lived there but declined to comment further. Two police officers went into the home after he spoke briefly to a couple of reporters.

Residents described the neighborhood as a mix of owners and renters, including some University of Maryland students.

A man who answered the phone at Johnson's residence in Mount Airy, northwest of Baltimore, said the family had no comment. The victim's aunt told a local television station she did not believe her nephew knew Aguilar.

Sydney Petty, in a statement to WBAL-TV, said she did not believe her nephew had a relationship with Benlolo.

"Tyler didn't have anything beyond a working relationship with this girl, and he would have mentioned it if he did, and we're just as confused as anybody," Petty said.

Five other people were hurt in the attack, but only one was hit by gunfire - a woman who was hit in the foot upstairs near Zumeiz. All were released from hospitals hours later.

Maintaining 100% Profiling Accuracy

Okay, now that we have confirmation, I must say that a few minutes after I heard the news reports of this tragic event, I knew that three people were found dead, including, apparently, the shooter.  I was immediately able to profile certain things about this criminal act:

1.)  The perpetrator obviously knew the victims.  I profiled that the police would learn that he had proceeded with obvious intentions of either finding a certain person, or killing a certain person.

2.)  I predicted that he knew EXACTLY where this would probably occur.

3.)  Although I didn't make this prediction, (mostly because it was rather obvious), because of the short amount of time between the first 911 call, and the release of the first police informational reports to the media, we have learned that Mr. Aguillar went DIRECTLY to a certain location, where he found what he was looking for.  We now know that, after going to the restaurant, he went directly to the Zoomies store, and killed two employees there.

4.)  I profiled that he had either been rejected by someone who worked there, or he had been treated badly by the employees of that location, or that there was a love interest, or PERCEIVED love interest involved, and that Mr. Aguillar was obsessed by such fantasies, as to have come to the conclusion that he was being wronged by one or both of the victims.  (We now also know, although the police will not confirm, that he was either an employee there, or a former employee of Zoomies.  And, we know that due to statements made by relatives of Mr. Aguillar.

5.)  Although there has been no mention by the investigators, I also predict that it will eventually come out that the Aguillar was addicted to violent video games, and that he was a very detached individual, who had been bullied by others, in his history at schools attended during his public education.  I seriously doubt any involvement of any private schooling, will be found in his history.  I think the police, (if they are competent to document it), will show that he had MULTIPLE video games and gaming equipment in his room.  The logical extension of this theory is that he had developed an inability to discern the difference between reality and fantasy, and often found himself confusing the two.  This is a pattern, within these shooters, and I would find it easy to predict it will be found, in this case; but ONLY if the people in charge of the investigation know what to look for, as evidence of this condition.

6.)   Although the police have not yet confirmed the content of the "journal' they have in their possession, they have said that they were "extremely concerned for the (Aguillar)'s safety."  I think it's safe to conclude, if it is released to the media, that the content of the "journal" will confirm even more of my profile.

My record of understanding these tragedies is intact, although prevention of them is a task that seems insurmountable, I will percevere toward a solution.

I truly believe that I could assist the parents and relatives of Mr. Aguillar in understanding and dealing with the events surrounding this tragic event, and I will make the necessary efforts to make contact with them to do so.

Parenting 101

The following is by John Rosemond, published in late 2009, in the Omaha World Herald.  He really nails this topic:

 Parents need to exit 1960s

I don't know about you, but I ready for the 1960s to be over and done with.  That destructive decade has ruled American parenting for 40 years and pretty well ruined it in the process.

Before the '60s, parents sought child-rearing advice from their elders.  Since then, parents have sought advice from a professional class -- which is to say, people like me.

Courtesy of Dr. Joyce Brothers, we so-called experts were able convince the American parent of a truly absurd proposition: to wit, that a 35-year-old who possesses a graduate degree in child psychology, has been married for five years, and has one child, age 2, knows more about children and how to raise them properly than an 85-year-old woman who never finished either grade but who raised 10 kids into successful adulthoods.

I was driving down the 405 in Los Angeles to other day, getting really worked up about all this.  Instead of road rage, I was having an attack of psychobabble rafe.  I started thinking about the really dumb thins that the babblers began telling parents in the 1960s.

Take, for example, "children need to be able to freely express their feelings."  In 1969, when Willie and I parents, we believed that.  It took three years for us to snap out of it, but by then our first child ruled our family by freely and loudly expressing his feelings whenever we failed to obey him.

It took a while, but I finally realized that children should not be allowed to freely express anything.  The natural inclination of the child is anti-social, narcissistic.  Children believe that what they want, they deserve to have, and because they deserve it, the ends justify the means.

Tyrants believe the same thing.  Therefore, children are tyrants by nature.  Give a tyrant/child an inch, and the tyrant/child will demand a mile.

Parents show their love for their neighbors by forcing their children to subdue their "inner bullies" and show respect for the needs of others.  And yes, force is required.  You can't talk a child into giving up delusions of grandeur and omnipotence.

Once force has succeeded in creating a child who will give his parents his undivided attention, then and only then can his parents teach.  Force is the horse that pulls the cart of teaching.

And before the child-abuse zealots go nuts, allow me to clarify: I ain't talkin' 'bout spanking (although I am not completely eliminating the option, either).  The most effective parenting force is applied calmly, but with steely resolve.

Just as a child should learn that certain behavior is inappropriate to certain situations, a child should learn that the expression of certain feelings is inappropriate to certain situations.  Children should learn that it is wrong to get mad when one loses a game, laugh when someone trips or cry when one doesn't get one's way.  Just as a child's behavior must be disciplined, so must his feelings.

So must a child's thinking.  Children should learn that certain thoughts are correct and other thoughts are wrong.  After all, wrong thinking leads almost inevitably to wrong behavior.

On all three counts -- behavior, feelings, and thinking -- parents need to be unequivocal.  They need to make themselves clear on what they expect and what they will not tolerate.

Yes, American parents need to wake up from the 1960s, take the flowers out of their hair, roll up their shirtsleeves and get back to the work of raising good citizens, defined simply as people who would rather serve than be served, people with more other-esteem than self-esteem.

Now, any of you who know me, or have followed this blog, you already know that this fine author is simply echoing my thoughts, and has a very similar view of life as we see it today, in this country.  Parenting is an artform, and it needs much more recognition than it has gotten over the past forty years.  For more from John Rosemond, visit his webswite at http://www.rosemond.com/ He has a lot of great stuff for your perusal.

My recent seminar on "Saving Our Children," held at the Omaha Westside Community Center had a wonderful effect, after I was consulted about an attendee's teenaged son, who is addicted to violent video games.  I had included information about the statistics of involvement of these kinds of addicts in the past ten years school and shopping mall shootings, (100% with no exceptions), and some alternative behavioral substitutions were suggested for the effects of withdrawal that are coming.  The father was an attendee, and was very concerned about this behavior, and the debilitating effects that it may cause to manifest in his son, . . .  that situation is being monitored, and we have high hopes of a successfull outcome.

I also want to thank everyone who attended.  The turnout was great.  We have scheduled another seminar on "Empowering Women" scheduled for the same location on April 19, 2011 at 7:00 PM sharp.  It is another Tuesday evening, and if you're available, you will enjoy the presentation.  Once again, CEUs are  available to certain professions.  For pricing and reservations, please call 402-312-5924.

God Bless,
Cindy Sorensen

Violent Video Addictions

If you've heard me speak, you know my position on the use of violent video games, and their effect on the youth of America.  Here is someone who supports my position, although he leaves himself plenty of room for error.  I think he and his wife has just noticed the tip of the iceberg!
